Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) has found herself in yet another internet feud on platform X, formerly known as Twitter, with Elon Musk, the owner.
The two have a history of engaging with each other on social media, often getting into disputes. This latest one has left Aoc feeling unsafe and violated.
A couple of days ago, Aoc compared the current and past number of immigrants coming to New York, stating that the current wave is “nothing” compared to ones that came before.
Conservative journalist Ashley St.Clair responded to Aoc’s thoughts: “Girl math is saying immigrants coming legally through Ellis Island is the same as 3 million undocumented migrants pouring through our border and costing NYC $1,000,000,000 to house migrants for free in hotels.”
Musk later tweeted in agreement with St.Clair, claiming that Aoc is “not that smart.”

Under Elon Musk, Twitter is apparently not fond of paying for things like Google services or the $500 million in severance it reportedly owes to thousands of ex-employees, but hey–it’s got the cash to pay out $5 million to Twitter Blue users like Andrew Tate and Ian Miles Cheong.
Musk announced in February that Twitter would start splitting ad revenue with blue checks. This first payment is everything qualifying Blue users have earned since then.
In a few weeks, X/Twitter will start paying creators for ads served in their replies. First block payment totals $5M.
Note, the creator must be verified and only ads served to verified users count.

On Tuesday, Twitter owner Elon Musk once more took to his social media network to complain about inaccuracies in mainstream media coverage — while trumpeting the site as a more reliable source of information. “News orgs like to control the narrative [and] hate being corrected, but at least people know they can come to this platform for a more accurate understanding of the world,” he boasted.
