Successful pop-folk group in
The Kingston Trio mode, formed at the
University of Washington [State] in 1958. Made of of four fraternity brothers, hence the name. The group's original members were
Dick Foley,
John Payne, Mike Kirkland and
Bob Flick. As recording artists on the
Columbia label, 1959-1969, their hits included "Greenfields", "The Green
Leaves of Summer", "Frogg" and "Try to Remember". The current (2003) Brothers Four lineup, which includes original members Payne and Flick and former

Bob Haworth, continues to tour
successfully, both in the U.S. and overseas, and make recordings on the
Folk Era label.
