Josh Olaoluwa is an award winning producer who is keen on creating African originals for a global audience. His most recent works have been featured on Netflix, MTV Base, CNN, Smithsonian Institute and Amazon Prime Video. He most recently produced Mo Abudu's directorial debut short projects 'My Wife' and 'Her Perfect Life' themed around mental health challenges.
His other Producing credits at Ebonylife studios where he worked as a producer includes 'A Sunday Affair' a romantic thriller which debuted at number one on Netflix Nigeria,and Oloture part 2, a limited series currently in Pre-production. He produced 'The Making of A King': a documentary on the process of producing King of Boys, Nigeria's first Netflix original series.
Josh worked as Producer and Showrunner on Grind, a 10-part series which debuted on Amazon prime video and retained the number 1 spot for most streamed show in Nigeria for 8 straight weeks.
For these works, Josh became the only Producer to concurrently have the number 1 films on Netflix and Prime Video Nigeria.
In 2023, Josh produced one of the only 2 African projects selected for development at the Red Sea Labs Saudi Arabia, and Torino Film Lab Italy, for the kid Adventure thriller 'Fantastic Tale'.
Josh was also Producer and Showrunner of two family sitcoms 'Pepprsoup' and 'Daddy Yo' that aired nationally in Nigeria, drawing an average audience of 5 million viewers on its primetime TV. Both shows have now been commissioned for a second season. Recently, he also Produced short films such as Naked Woman which won the Prize for Best Director at the New York Tri-State film festival. It was officially selected by the Smithsonian Museum of African Arts D.C to commemorate Nigeria's 62nd independence, as well as Ije which was nominated in 9 categories, including best African short, at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival, Canada.
In 2023, Josh received an AMVCA Nomination for his work in Love Language, which is in running for the Best Short Film at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award. The short film has also been selected to screen at the 10th edition of the Nollywood week, Paris.
When Josh is not making films, he teaches kids 8-12 on how to use the camera.
