Graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville in 1994 and
lived in Orlando, Tampa, New Orleans, Las Vegas, and New York City before moving
to Los Angeles in March of 2000 to pursue a career in filmmaking. His
father, Troy Anthony Garriga, Sr., has been a professional gambler
since the 1970s and counted Telly Savalas and Redd Foxx among his poker
buddies.
The longtime resident of New Orleans is an avid Saints fan.
Met actresses Monica Allgeier and Desi Lydic while in traffic on the Hollywood Freeway in 2001; they remain close friends to this day.
Once auditioned for "Entourage" after being encouraged to do so by a friend starring on the show. After meeting and auditioning for the show's producers, including creator Doug Ellin, the part went to Giovanni Ribisi.
A veteran of school plays and community theatre by the age of 12, he began his college career as a theatre major and studied with renowned Shakespeare scholar Sid Homan at the University of Florida.
Has had literary work published in national periodicals and magazines.
