Multinational studio Dori Media Group (Dmg) is presenting two episodes of its gripping new series “Amia” at the LA Screenings along with a notable lineup of scripted and unscripted series, encompassing various regions, languages and cultures.
Filmed mostly in Uruguay as well as Argentina, “Amia” is inspired by the terror attacks of 1992 on the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires and in 1994 against its Argentinian Jewish community, specifically the Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (Amia), the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association.
“Amia” tracks the journey of a Mossad operative grappling with the loss of his sister in the 1992 Embassy attack. He joins forces with a local Argentine journalist to seek justice. The eight episodes of Season 1 delves into the period between the initial assault and the subsequent attack on Amia in 1994. It primarily features Spanish dialogue, with some English, Hebrew and Persian.

Warning: spoilers for The Last Kingdom seasons 1-5 and the Saxon Stories .
It’s been over a year since The Last Kingdom TV series ended, and this multi-location show with its many Aethelflaeds, Aethelreds, Aethelhelms, Aethelstans, Aelswiths and Aelfwynns (honestly just the tip of the ‘ae’ iceberg) has never been the easiest to keep straight. If you’d benefit from a reminder of where things were left and who everybody is in new feature length Netflix film Seven Kings Must Die then, you’re more than excused.
First of all, it’s important to know that the TV show ended roughly in line with events at the end of The Flame Bearer, Book 10 in Bernard Cornwell’s Saxon Stories saga. That’s when Uhtred Ragnarsson took possession of his ancestral fortress of Bebbanburg, after winning it back from his treacherous cousin Whitgar. Three further novels exist to conclude Uhtred’s story,...

Aca-Scuse me? A common reaction from Pitch Perfect fans after news broke of a streaming series spinoff centering on Adam Devine’s Bumper looking to realize his dream. Flula Borg, who played European rival Pieter Kramer, was excited to get the callback. In Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, Kramer is now the disgraced former leader of the German acapella group Das Sound Machine. He is dumped by his girlfriend Gisela (Jameela Jamil) and estranged from family members including sis Lina “DJ Das Boot” (Lera Abova). Excommunicated from the singing world, he becomes Bumper’s talent manager ahead of the Unity Festival in hopes of getting back in the game and clearing his name. Here Borg chats about the first season and hopes for the future. How much fun did you have riding in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade alongside Adam and Sarah [Hyland]? Flula Borg: As a German man, this is a very confusing thing.

“Pitch Perfect” character Bumper Allen may not have gotten into the Good Place himself, but that doesn’t mean a little of “The Good Place” didn’t get into “Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin” — the two shows share an executive producer, after all. But, according to showrunner Megan Amram, the nods to her last sitcom weren’t exactly intentional.
“Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin,” now streaming on Peacock, follows the antagonist of the first two movies, Bumper (Adam Devine) as he’s persuaded to move to Germany to reignite his singing career. According to Pieter Kramer, Bumper is famous there after going viral on TikTok. Granted, Pieter is kind of playing fast and loose with the word “famous,” but Bumper doesn’t know that, so off he goes.

Plot: In the new series for Peacock, several years after we last saw him in “Pitch Perfect,” Adam Devine’s Bumper Allen moves to Germany to revive his music career when one of his songs becomes big in Berlin.
Review: If you ever asked yourself which character from the Pitch Perfect franchise was worth getting their own spin-off, Adam Devine’s Bumper Allen was probably at the bottom of the list. An antagonist in the first film and a side character in the sequel, Bumper shifts the focus from the competitive world of acapella music to Germany. With fellow Pitch Perfect 2 alum Flula Borg reprising his role as Pieter Kramer, Bumper in Berlin is everything the series title makes it out to be and not much more. While it has some harmless laughs and fun musical moments, this series misses the point of why people connected so much with...

“Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin” marks the return of more than one of the film franchise’s original villains, with Flula Borg’s Pieter Kramer from Das Sound Machine. But it also introduces a new villain named Gisela, who just so happens to be Pieter’s toxic ex. The two are a formidable musical duo — and a horny one at that. But Borg and Jameela Jamil, who plays Gisela, loved that about them.
When we pick up in the new series, now streaming on Peacock, we learn that Pieter is a music manager these days following a fall from grace in Das Sound Machine. When the group’s beatboxer came down with a condition that made his mouth unusable — at least for beatboxing — they attempted to use a literal sound machine. But, when a technical failing results in the sound machine still going after the singers themselves stop, Pieter is shamed and ousted by everyone,...

Warm up those vocal cords and get your cups ready, because everyone's favorite acapella franchise is back! "Pitch Perfect" captured the hearts and ears of a generation, following the Barden Bellas, a university acapella group with dreams of taking over the world through song. The film trilogy was a glorious story of female friendship in equal parts heartfelt emotion and gross-out humor. While the films weren't all equal in quality (sorry "Pitch Perfect 3") the music was always excellent, carrying on the legacy of "Glee" (while playfully making fun of it) by making acapella music far cooler than it has any right to be.
With "Pitch Perfect 3" ending the trilogy back in 2017, it feels like the perfect time to catch up with beloved characters from the Barden Bellas like Beca (Anna Kendrick), Emily (Hailee Steinfeld), Chloe (Brittany Snow), and Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson). Strangely, "Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin...

Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin premieres Wednesday, November 23, on Peacock.
Ahead of the premiere of the six-episode first season, TV Fanatic got to chat with the cast and showrunner about what's to come in this spinoff series.
As previously reported, Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin follows Bumper (Adam Devine) as he moves to Germany to revive his career.
Bumper is older but not wiser when we pick back up with him years later.
He finds himself like a fish out of water in Berlin as he's reunited with some familiar faces.
However, he also finds himself meeting new faces.
One of the new people in his life is Heidi, played by Sarah Hyland.
They immediately connect because they both live very different lifestyles compared to their lives in the U.S. They are both interested in creating meaningful music.
Take a look at what the two actors had to say...

The first time Bumper Allen (Adam Devine) meets music producer Thea (Lera Abova) in Peacock’s Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, she’s skeptical about his chances of making it as a singer. He has, she brusquely declares, a “backpfeifengesicht — a face that is deserving of a slap.”
Bumper, who’s heard it before, takes her comment in stride: “It’s my round cheeks, coupled with my whole personality.” Indeed, Bumper’s slappability is precisely what made him so fun in the first Pitch Perfect — his ever-present smirk and bullying ways made him not only easy to hate, but fun to root against.
As Bumper well knows, however, not every member of an ensemble is destined to break out as a solo act, and that unfortunately proves to be the case in his eponymous TV spinoff. The series, created by Megan Amram and Elizabeth Banks,...

When Peacock announced Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, a series featuring one of the movie franchise's most polarizing characters, there was a great deal of skepticism.
Adam Devine is a phenomenal actor, but there were questions about whether a series following Bumper could live up to the success of the movies.
Devine slips back into the Bumper role as though he's never been away. Bumper remains as endearing as ever as he navigates a very different chapter of his life.
When we left Bumper in the movies, I bet he never imagined his career would be at a standstill all these years later.
We pick up with his attempt to move to Berlin to revive his career thanks to one of his videos going viral in Germany.
It's a compelling hook for the series and allows viewers to see a very different side to Bumper as a fish out of water.

If anyone came away from “Pitch Perfect” with a burning desire to know what happens to male a cappella diva Bumper Allen (Adam Devine), I’d like to meet and study them for science. Of all the characters to earn their own spinoff from this franchise about the transformative power of female friendship, Bumper is the absolute last one that makes any sense. But the three “Pitch Perfect” movies were borne of Universal Pictures, which in turn begat NBC Universal’s streaming service Peacock, which needs eyeballs attached to subscribers in order to survive. Enter “Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin,” a truly strange addition to the “Pitch Perfect” aca-universe that at least employed some smart people while wringing its IP of choice for every drop of goodwill it’s worth.

Get aca-excited, because the new "Pitch Perfect" spin-off series, "Bumper in Berlin," is coming our way. Rather than focus on the Barden Bellas or any of the other a capella groups we've come to know over the course of the "Pitch Perfect" trilogy, "Bumper in Berlin" is centered around the European adventures of Adam Devine's character, Bumper Allen. The show sees Bumper trying to restart his singing career after "Pitch Perfect 2" star Pieter Krämer (Flula Borg) informs him that a TikTok mashup he's made is going viral in Germany. Hoping to capitalize on his unexpected 15 minutes of fame, Bumper moves to Berlin to try and grow his budding fanbase.
Now in a foreign land, Bumper meets our new cast of characters, like Pieter's assistant Heidi (Sarah Hyland), Pieter's DJ sister Thea Krämer (Lera Abova), and his new rival, singer Gisela (Jameela Jamil), who also happens to be Pieter's ex-girlfriend.

The second half of "Star Trek: Prodigy" season 1 will begin airing on Paramount+ on October 27, and the series has already taken several dramatic turns. The show's central ship, the U.S.S. Protostar, will soon make contact with actual Federation officers for the very first time. This follows a period wherein nothing had been known as to the show's location within the "Star Trek" cartography, or even its time frame. In the return episode, "Asylum," Dal (Brett Gray), Gwyn (Ella Purnell), the holographic Capt. Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), and the rest of the Protostar crew will board a Federation communications relay manned by a single lonely officer. Meanwhile, the real-life Vice Admiral Janeway (also Mulgrew) will take command of an impressive new ship, the U.S.S. Dauntless, and discover the presumed-defeated Diviner (John Noble), Gwyn's father and the Palpatine-like villain of the series.
