Gabriela de Armas
- Costume Designer
- Costume and Wardrobe Department
I was born in 1978. I studied Humanities and Psychology, and through both careers I got closer to what we wear, and decided to work in wardrobe design over 15 years ago.
I am highly experienced as wardrobe designer for cinema and television. In advertising, I have worked with renowned international directors, for big brands like Coca Cola, Claro, Movistar, Mormondo, Tumi, etc. I have designed and led the production of wardrobe for several Uruguayan music bands, including Boomerang and Santé les Amis.
Some of the latest films I worked on, "Los Tiburones", "Aleli" and "Las Vacaciones de Hildas"
I see wardrobe design as a direct means of communication, and an indirect one in some instances.
My ability to work on the characters from a subjective analysis is my best tool for the end result to be aesthetically harmonious.
