Marianne McKenzie began her acting career in Saint Louis, MO with Shakespeare, moving into musical theatre and opera, and received her MFA in Acting and Directing from the University of Missouri - Kansas City.
In addition to her MFA, she has taken many masterclasses from a variety of instructors. Theodore Swetz served as her primary mentor in school, and trained Marianne in Stanislavski technique. In grad school, she was trained in stage combat and clown. She has studied with instructors from Juilliard, the Royal School of Dramatic Arts, and the British American Drama Academy.
After working in professional theatre for 15 years, she moved to Atlanta, GA to pursue her career in film and television.
In addition to acting, Marianne is a writer, singer, poet, and visual artist. She has a published coloring book, has had her drawings featured in art galleries, has toured professionally as both an actor and singer to both South America and Europe, and has written plays and poems, many of which are published. She is an accomplished singer of many styles, ranging from opera to metal.
