Benjamin Quinto
- Producer
Benjamin was born in Miami, raised in Europe and then New York City, where he pursued acting as a teenager, while attending the High School for the Performing Arts (also known as Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and the Performing Arts). With classmates that went on to appear in feature films and television, Benjamin was instead recognized as a talented stage performer (particularly for his title role of King Henry VI in a production by the American Theater of Actors, which earned him a Most Promising New Actor award), but soon after he moved into sets and production, before graduating in 1995.
Despite spending the next 12 years in the non-profit sector, he stayed active in production, working on a wide variety of stage events, including co-producing his high school's annual talent show (Rising Stars, 1994), working on sets for The National Black Theater Festival (Winston Salem, 1995), being associate producer of Verde Valley School's Annual Concert to Benefit the Native American Scholarship Fund (Sedona, AZ, 1997, featuring Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, others), creative producing the youth segment of the Dallas Millennium Celebrations (2000, broadcast on CNN), and being web producer for several TV shows, including Chat The Planet and Bridge to Baghdad (2002-2004, broadcast on MTV and mtvU to 280m households), Yvote 04 (2004) and SNAP! (2003) on LinkTV.
In recent years, Benjamin has been supporting a number of musical artists, garnering producer credits on such music albums as Scøut (Zachary Murdock, 2017) and Cowlick (Zachary Murdock & Alberto Bof, 2018), and stage productions, including A Brooklyn Boy (East Village Playhouse, 2017), and The Bench: A Homeless Love Story (East Village Playhouse, 2017). He is Associate Producer of Youth Unstoppable (2018): The Rise of the Global Youth Climate Movement (2018, Scythia Films), and has quietly backed a variety of other documentaries.
