Nicholas A. Hanley, the youngest of five children, was born in Manhattan, New York raised in Long Island, New York. He is the son of Claudette, a Registered Nurse, and the late Ricardo A. Hanley, Sr. His middle name, Antonio, means "Beyond praise" in Spanish.
