Welcome to this review of this past Friday’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!
Match #1: Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill def. Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Right from the opening bell, Alba Fyre, Isla Dawn, Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark made their way to ringside to view the action. Hartwell and LeRae took down Belair with superb tag team offense, as Hartwell mocked Cargill with her own pose. When Cargill was tagged in, she dismantled Hartwell and LeRae. Cargill and Belair wrapped up the non-title match with a unique tag team maneuver. After the match, Fyre, Dawn, Baszler and Stark ambushed the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, but Belair and Cargill fended off their attackers.
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Grayson Waller def. Johnny Gargano The following is courtesy of wwe.

Although Bianca Belair battled through her injured knee with the heart of queen, The Est of WWE’s knee gave out when she attempted the K.O.D., clearing a path for Nia Jax to hit a Senton/Anniliator combination to pick up the victory and advance to the Finals of the Queen of the Ring Tournament against Lyra Valkyria. The Est took on The Center of the Universe in a magnificent showdown for the chance to move on in the Queen of the Ring Tournament. Bianca Belair seemed to have tweaked her knee in the early going but found the resolve to fight through the pain. Stratton locked on to Belair’s injured knee, using The Est’s braids to take Belair down before sending her crashing knee first into the ring steps. Match #1: Noam Dar def. Dijak The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The numbers game of the Meta-Four proved dividends for Noam Dar as Supernova 11 conquered the much larger Dijak thanks to Lash Legend, Jakara Jackson, and Oro Mensah. Dijak laid into the Scottish Superstar, crushing him with brutal chops, strong strikes, and back-breaking tosses across the ring. Dar was even on the receiving end of a ring-shaking sit-out chokeslam. Dar managed to rally and hit a Fisherman Buster on the larger Dijak, parlaying that move into an armbar that incapacitated his arm. After trading incredible shots, Dijak became distracted by Mensah who jumped on the apron, allowing Dar to hit Nova Roller to pick up the huge win.

Before the match could even begin, Paxley attacked Perez as the two brawled at the ringside area. Paxley put up a fight, but a Pop Rox into a crossface from Perez sealed the victory. Match #1: Asylum Match – Dijak def. Joe Gacy The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Dijak vanquished Joe Gacy in a brutal Asylum Match, but the deranged Gacy still managed to send shivers down the Nxt Universe’s spine even in defeat. With weapons all around the ring, the two rivals massacred each other inside the ring with the likes of steel chairs, fire extinguishers, tool boxes, and so much more. Match #1: Noam Dar & Oro Mensah def. Von Wagner & Mr. Stone The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Von Wagner and Mr. Stone have never been on the same page more than they have been right now, but it still wasn’t enough to trip up The Meta-Four. The chaos started early as all four Superstars brawled before the match even began, but thankfully an official broke it up long enough for the bout to begin. The action was fast and furious with Wagner showing off his incredible power, but the numbers game of The Meta-Four factored in as Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend distracted the official long enough for Mensah to hit a cheap shot and allow Dar to sneak in the winning pinfall.

Breakker and Corbin were Superstars on a mission, using their power to dominate early with Breakker even launching his teammate over the top rope right onto Trick Melo Gang. Match #1: Axiom def. Nathan Frazer The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
A hard-fought battle between two of Nxt’s best highflyers went the way of Axiom as he bested Nathan Frazer in a fast-paced match-up.The speed of both Superstars was on full display as was their athleticism, as Axiom’s moonsault to the outside was soon one-upped by Frazer countering a top-rope maneuver by hitting a twisting neckbreaker. One hesitation by Frazer opened the door for Axiom, who hit a scintillating Spanish Fly and followed that up with a perfect Golden Ratio to win the friendly matchup.

Match #1: Last Chance Iron Survivor Qualifier Fatal 4-Way Match – Fallon Henley def. Thea Hail, Roxanne Perez and Kiana James The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
With just one spot at Nxt Deadline left, Fallon Henley rose to the occasion and punched her ticket to the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge by capitalizing on the intense rivalry between Roxanne Perez and Kiana James. James and Perez battered each other and fully utilized the No Disqualification rules of a Fatal 4-Way, culminating in the two of them crashing through the announce table. Henley made the most of the opportunity by hitting a Shining Wizard on Thea Hail, securing her spot at Deadline.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Lola Vice def. Tatum Paxley The following is courtesy of wwe.

Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo gave it their best try, but Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo came out on top and retained the Nxt Tag Team Titles. The challengers jumped the champions before the match even began, but one Bada Bing Bada Boom was enough for The Family to go home happy.

Match #1: Nxt Heritage Cup – Noam Dar vs. Chad Gable The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Nxt Heritage Cup remains with Noam Dar and The Meta-Four, but not without some controversy. After a scoreless round one, Dar stole round two thanks to a sneaky kick from Oro Mensah and a subsequent Nova Roller. Gable knotted the contest up at one apiece thanks to a rolling German suplex in round five. In the waning moments of round six, Gable locked in an Ankle Lock, but Dar tapped out just after the bell rang, ensuring that the Heritage Cup wouldn’t change hands.

Match #1: Nxt Tag Team Championship Match – Tony D’Angelo & Stacks def. Chase U The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The gold is coming back to The Family as Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo reclaimed the Nxt Tag Team Titles just weeks after losing them to Chase U at Halloween Havoc. Jacy Jayne once again tried to interfere in the match, but a clearly distracted Andre Chase refused her help, allowing Tony D and Stacks to hit Bada Bing Bada Boom and become the new champions.

Match #1: Tables, Ladders, and Scares Match – The Creed Brothers def. Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Julius and Brutus Creed put on a show for the Nxt Universe as they defeated Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo in a wacky and wild Tables, Ladders, and Scares Match. All four competitors wore the wounds of war all over their bodies, but in the end a Super Brutus Ball through two tables was enough to give The Creeds the victory.

It was quite a birthday for Ilja Dragunov a few weeks ago when the WWE Nxt Champion successfully defended the gold against Dominik Mysterio. The October 10 episode of the USA Network show also saw a slew of top superstars paying a visit including John Cena, The Undertaker, Asuka, and Cody Rhodes. Next up for the Russian-born “Mad Dragon” is the main event during the second week of Halloween Havoc on Nxt. It’s where he’ll put the belt on the line against Carmelo Hayes. They’ve had quite the rivalry putting on two classics at the Great American Bash and No Mercy. Here Dragunov previews the next installment of this trilogy. As Nxt champion, how is it for you to see all eyes on the brand, especially on that October 10 episode leading into Halloween Havoc? Ilja Dragunov: It’s absolutely beautiful. It was a very special birthday for me.

Well, well, well. Nxt now have the No Mercy Ple brand and this is the first version of the PPV which started back in 1999, right here in the UK! With that being said, let’s see what went down on the first Nxt: No Mercy…
Match #1: Blair Davenport def. Kelani Jordan The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The destructive Blair Davenport sent another message to the Nxt women’s locker room by defeating upstart newcomer Kelani Jordan to kick off Nxt No Mercy. Davenport mocked her opponent throughout the match, but her overconfidence backfired as Jordan rallied with her innovative and athletic offense. Despite the Nxt Universe firmly in her corner, Jordan couldn’t muster up enough to overcome her veteran opponent as Davenport’s suplex driver gave her the victory.
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Baron Corbin def. Bron Breakker The following is courtesy of wwe.
