Born in Ohio, raised in Michigan and Florida, Sarah was heavily
involved in Grosse Pointe Woods' Childrens Theatre and "Young
Viewpointes," a Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan local cable access show
beginning at the age of 9.
While studying theatre at Florida State University, she received a scholarship to participate in the school's London Theatre program, where she specialized in costume design. Her mentors included renowned costume designer Colleen Muscha and actress Sheila Allen.
Her studies in costuming centered on costume crafts: Textile modification, Sculpt-or-Coat, Metal Leafing, Milinery. She occasionally helps out on friends' productions when costuming or vintage hair/makeup is needed.
Also at Florida State, she concentrated worked at radio station WFVS, a station also known for having had Pamela Smart and Belle du Jour, Brooke Magnanti as dj's. Sarah graduated with plans to obtain her Masters in Library Science, with a an emphasis on music archiving.
Moved to LA in 2000 to work in documentary and non-fiction programming.
In addition to working in television, Sarah volunteers her time shooting "oral histories" of Los Angeles residents, as well as working as an advocate for historical preservation.
Has been invited to publicly read her personal essays for various writing festivals in the Los Angeles area.
