A journalism graduate of the University of Oklahoma, in 1976 Suzanne Mitchell was a public relations expert who was working as an administrative assistant to Tex Schramm, the president of the Dallas Cowboys, when she was designated to revitalize the team's cheer leading squad. She outdid herself by turning the squad into a cultural phenomenon, ushering in what her obituary called a "new era in sports entertainment, branding and marketing.".
