Kenny Sue is an actor and filmmaker from Vancouver, British Columbia, who has been creating short films of every possible genre since her teenage years. Her artistic vision centers around the complexities of relationships, with a focus on family and close friendship dynamics. She seeks to create works that are both thought-provoking and entertaining, infusing her dramas with an underlying sense of humour that reflects the absurdity of life. She was inspired to pursue acting in high school, where she participated in the school musicals and film program. She continued this pursuit all the way to Simon Fraser University, where she studied theatre performance and film.
In her short film "Visions" (2022), which Kenny wrote, directed and co-produced, she aimed to create a space for dialogue and reflection, inspiring audiences to think more deeply about their own relationships and the world around them by following a therapist who was losing her own grasp on reality. In 2023, she collaborated with filmmaker Katie Christing on the short film "Exchanges", which was her first major collaboration in writing and directing that explored themes of loneliness and isolation through a more comedic and lighthearted lens.
