Richard McDorman
Richard E. McDorman (1971-) was born in Beckley, West Virginia. He grew up in West Virginia, western Pennsylvania, and southwest Virginia, and went on to study linguistics at the University of Virginia and University of Chicago, as well as philosophy and ancient history at the University of Miami and translation at New York University. He is certified by the American Translators Association (ATA) for translation from Spanish to English.
A recognized expert in the English language and an author of ESL textbooks and articles on phonetics, phonology, historical linguistics, and the humanities, Mr. McDorman has a variety of research interests, including language change, Indo-European linguistics, and African American English (AAE). He has also taught English, Spanish, and Latin at the college level.
