Rahul hails from Durg, Chhattisgarh and currently stays in Mumbai. He is a post graduate in Screenplay Writing from Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune.
Growing up, he was fascinated by movies, cartoons, comics, mythological tales, and storybooks. Rahul spent most of his schooling and college years attending cultural events, tech fests, drama competitions, and ad-making contests.
Following graduation, instead of accepting lucrative offers from IT companies, Rahul joined a theater group . During his time there, he adapted myths and lore as well as plays written in many languages, including Russian, French, and English in Hindi. During this time, he discovered a flair for writing. In 2014, he won a National level drama competition organized by a prestigious media group.
By December of 2014, he began writing for animated shows and soon became a prominent name in Indian animation circuit. By the time this bio was written, he had around 300 episodes and 4 Tele-movies as writer and editor to his credit. He also served as Creative Director for two animated shows which airs on channels like POGO and Disney as well as OTT Platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
In April of 2018, an episode titled "Every Father's Vision" written by Rahul for the show "Kalari Kids" won the award of Best Animated Episode at Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival, New Delhi.
