Hans-Ulrich Krüger
1971 Abitur at Engelbert-Kämpfer-Gymnasium in Lemgo. Studied law, 1979 to 1982 research assistant at the University of Bielefeld, doctorate in law and legal clerkship, worked as a lawyer for a few months.
1982 to 1986 judge at the Osnabrück District and Regional Courts, at the Bersenbrück and Papenburg District Courts; 1986 to 1988 judge at the Osnabrück Regional Court and head of a civil law study group for legal interns. 1985 to 1988 lecturer at the University of Osnabrück. 1988 to 1991 municipal senior legal advisor in the Old Hanseatic City of Lemgo.
First chairman of the "Förderverein Haus Voerde e. V.".
Active in local politics since 1991. Advisory member of the executive committee of the Association of Towns and Municipalities of North Rhine-Westphalia and of the SPD sub-district executive committee. From 1991 to 1997, city director of the city of Voerde, from 1997 to 2002 full-time mayor of the city of Voerde.
Member of the Bundestag since 2002.
