Volker Wissing
Abitur at the Bad Bergzabern state high school. Studied law at the Saarland University, Saarbrücken and at the Albrecht-Ludwigs University, Freiburg im Breisgau, first state law examination in 1994, legal trainee in the district of the Palatinate Higher Regional Court in Zweibrücken, second state law examination in Mainz in 1996. 1997 Doctorate in environmental law at the Westphalian Wilhelms University, Münster.
Head of the objection office of the Hazardous Waste Management Society (SAMGmbH) in Mainz. Appointed judge in 1997. Worked at the Zweibrücken regional court, the public prosecutor's office and the Landau district court. 2000 to 2004 Personal advisor, parliamentary and cabinet advisor to Justice Minister Herbert Mertin in Mainz, 1999 to 2002 lecturer at the University of Mainz.
Since 2001 district chairman of the FDP Landau/Südliche Weinstrasse; Member of the district board of the FDP Palatinate and of the FDP state board of Rhineland-Palatinate.
Member of the Bundestag since January 2004.
