Dawn Crouch

A native of New Orleans, Dawn Crouch is a former dancer with Houston Ballet under the direction of James Clouser and Nicholas Polejenko. She holds a degree in political science, earned while teaching ballet at the University of Houston. She pursued a graduate and has written copy for a living, all while continuing to teach.
Ballet is a small world and Dawn enjoys many connections with former colleagues, personal friends and past students who work in major ballet companies throughout the United States and Europe. She has directed and danced in numerous ballet productions and understands that any good story uses action and precise detail to convey plot, character, and emotion.
Her first screenplay, THE SPIDERWEB TATTOO was a top-ten finalist for Action/Adventure in the 2009 PAGE International Screenwriting Competition. Another script, DEAD CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND was optioned in 2012 by Wind Horse Entertainment. She is currently working on the novel adaptation of Rocket City's most famous urban legend.
In 2016, MIRROR MASQUERADE, an epic scale dramedy, earned her representation with Canton Literary Management.
Dawn lived in Gulfport, MS at the time of Hurricane Katrina. As a refugee of the storm, she was blown to Alabama where she still resides, a safe distance from the beach. AGAINST THE WIND, Jane-Claire's Personal Salvation, is the title of her novel and script based on the experience of her family during and after Hurricane Katrina.
