Calvin Ruffin II is a native of Seat Pleasant MD. A DC high school graduate and Norfolk State school of communications alum class of 98'. Ruffin made the famous underground cult classic indie film "Real Life Story" in 1992 shot on the streets of North East DC and Seat Pleasant, MD. After attending NSU in 1994 Ruffin shot five short films and numerous music videos.
Upon graduation Ruffin went to NYC and worked in production for one of his main inspirations... Spike Lee and 40 Acres and a Mule film works. Even though "Bamboozled" was the only credited film during Ruffin's stint in "Gotham City", Ruffin worked on many industry films in production such as "The Family Man" with Nicholas Cage and Don Cheadle. Brett Ratner took a liking to the aspiring writer giving him more responsibility than usual.
