In the early 60s he opened one of the first coffee bars in the UK, near Streatham Ice Rink, south London, then a motorcycle shop in Worcester Park, Surrey.
Richard worked as a motorcycle despatch rider in London in the 1970s for Security Despatch.
In the 1970s, he was well-known on the small screen as the man in the
aeroplane's bath in the 'Imperial Leather' commercials.

In the early 60s Dick Wyler was a road racer - notably riding a Greeves
in racing trim - on British short circuits, etc. At this time, he was a
columnist in "Motor Cycling" magazine: 'Richard Wyler's Coffee Bar
Column'.
