Scotty Wright(I)

- Soundtrack
Born into a military family, Scotty lived in Europe and Asia before
high school. He spent his senior year with the international cast of Up
With People, receiving his diploma from their traveling high school
program. Returning home to California, Scotty began singing in clubs in
the Monterey Bay area, gradually moving north towards San Francisco.
Although adept at a variety of musical styles, he decided to focus on
singing jazz in 1987, and his first recording, Too Much Fun!, was
recorded in 1988. Scotty was offered the role of the Piano Man in 'Bad
Jim' after the director, Clyde Ware, saw him perform live in Hollywood,
while promoting his first recording. Scotty wrote the two songs he sang
in the film. Although he was asked to portray Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson
in a film (also written/directed by Ware; shelved while still in
pre-production), 'Bad Jim' remains Scotty's only feature film credit to
date, as he continues to travel the world, performing, teaching,
writing (and writing about) jazz.
