Did Father Bennett finally realize there was something odd about a poster promoting the Pope's arrival that featured the Pontiff's back?
I mean, really, is the Pope coming or going?
There were three very distinct stories at play on The Exorcist Season 1 Episode 6, with a boring little fourth plot line that keeps trying to keep itself in play, no matter how much I'd like to cut it off at the roots. Let's take a look!
Starting small, the story that just won't go away is anything related to Jessica.
It's simply peachy that once upon a time Marcus was a confused young man who didn't know if his future with a woman or God, but he chose God. It's different than a marriage. If he chooses to cheat on God, he loses everything.
There is nothing interesting about his continued confusion at this point when there are such big stakes at hand.

Casey Rance is finally going to get the help she needs.
No thanks can go (directly) to the Catholic Church and medical science most definitely won't get a nod.
On The Exorcist Season 1 Episode 4, Casey was on a 51/50 psychiatric hold so she could be evaluated to find out what the heck was going on. That was a total bust.
Angela called in the only person she thought might be able to help, Father Tomas, who felt his hands were tied because the Church wouldn't give him permission to deliver to Casey the sacrament she so desperately needed.
Thankfully, Marcus was out cruising about (literally) getting his mojo back.
He took a bus tour of all the serial killers (maybe hauntings...not quite sure) that had gone down in Chicago to connect with someone who might be able to share more information, or at least back him up, on his theories...

Things are getting a lot more confusing with this story.
Maybe it's just me, but I found myself scratching my head quite a few times while watching The Exorcist Season 1 Episode 3. In fact, I'd be surprised if I'm not missing a patch of hair on my poor head.
Could it be I'm looking too hard for meaning in some of the scenes? I'm hoping you'll be able to help me out.
Father Bennett arrived in Chicago as part of His Holiness' prep crew. Maybe it's just me, but it seems far fetched that the same priest who is sent to the dusty streets of Mexico City to check on an exorcism is the same guy heading up the tour for Pope Sebastian.
It would have made more sense to me if he had finagled his way onto the crew because of the city's proximity to St. Aquinas and desire to track down Father Marcus,...
