In 1995, among other Spanish public figures like actors
Jorge Cadaval or
Javier Gurruchaga and others, he was accused of corruption of minors in what was known as the "Caso Arny". Several male teenage prostitutes testified that they were forced to prostitute in the gay pub Arny, located Seville, and implied several public figures as clients. Most of the accused, including Vázquez, were acquitted of all charges due to false testimony of the plaintiff, who assured they were pressured to say names of famous people on their testimony. This forced Vázquez to publicly declare his homosexuality and the case hurt his career at the time. Vázquez has later referred to it as a "gay witch hunt".
