- In 1978 he won first prize at the Knokke-Heist Humor Festival with Kabaretgroep Toost.
- His last theatre production was the monologue Diego, about Diego Rivera, the husband of artist Frieda Kahlo, which he performed in 2022.
- Ronald Van Rillaer experienced a huge professional setback at the end of 2001 when his big-budget musical production Ben was declared bankrupt. That musical was staged at the Waagnatie in Antwerp, but after fifty performances, the play was stopped early. It saddled Van Rillaer with a huge financial hangover and he was forced to sell his house in Schoten.
- After a bad fall during a walk with his dog, he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and did not wake up.
- For the Flemish audience he voiced Toy Story (as Mr. Potato Head), Mickey Mouse, Gepetto (in Pinocchio) and Doc (in Snow White).
- Ronald Van Rillaer worked a lot without being paid. He worked a lot, and enjoyed working with young people. In Vilvoorde, for instance, he gave theatre classes to underprivileged people. He did the good for the sake of the good.
- He acted in dozens of plays, musicals, children's shows and he had guest roles in well-known Flemish television series.
- He was Cultural Animator of the city of Antwerp, and worked also as a presenter of events and as a journalist.
- He acted in more than three thousand performances of dozens of cabaret and (street) theater pieces, TV series, commercials, corporate films, films and radio plays.
- Van Rillaer is best known as 'Lambik' in the musical 'Suske en Wiske'.
