Daughter of
Olga Tschechowa and
Michael Chekhov. In 1921, her family moved to Berlin, where she grew up. The daughter of a famous actress, Ada Tschechowa's early contact to the film business helped her make up her mind to become an actress, albeit, unlike her mother, she concentrated mainly on stage work but made some films. After the war she only took part in the movie "Geheimnis einer Ehe" (1951), the theater was still her great passion. On 28 January 1966, she and 45 others were killed during a botched landing. was married to cinematographer Franz Weihmayr (until 1934), then to physician Wilhelm Rust (father of her only child; until 1950), and finally with boxer Conny Rux.
