Little House on the Prairie star Alison Arngrim played Nellie Oleson from 1974 until 1982. TV audiences loved tuning in each week and watching her character’s sassy exchanges with Laura Ingalls (played by actor Melissa Gilbert). What is Arngrim doing now? Here’s everything we know.

‘Little House on the Prairie’ Star Melissa Gilbert Sticks to a Budget: ‘I Was Reckless in My Spending Habits’
Arngrim enjoyed working on Little House on the Prairie. However, she was ready to leave the show as the seventh season approached. In her book, Confessions of a Prairie B****, she says her character’s storylines became less interesting. Arngrim’s character, Nellie, was a mean girl, but she became mellow after marrying on-screen husband Percival Dalton (played by the late Steve Tracy). Arngrim wasn’t happy with the way things were going.

I loved this book. I was well over half-way through with my next read when I saw this book at the store. I was just going to read the first chapter and wait to read the rest until I finished the book I was already reading, but I stayed up until 3 a.m. reading Confessions of a Prairie Bitch. The television stories were really my favorite part. Who doesn't love "Little House on the Prairie"? It's possible to watch several hours of the show every day in syndication. Reading Arngrim's stories about the set made me feel like I was privileged with top secret information. I learned that Michael Landon would wear tight pants with no underwear and drank lots of Wild Turkey. He also...

Chapter Fifteen: A Change in the RelationshipI couldn’t marry Steve Tracy (that gay thing kind of got in the way), but I did marry a friend of his sister. I met Donald Spencer in December 1984. He was twenty-two, like me. He told me a friend of his back in Florida, a girl named Cindy, had a brother, Steve, who married a TV character named Nellie Oleson. Small world, I thought. But Don claimed to have never once watched an episode of Little House.Getting married seemed like a good idea at the time. I had gone through a whole parade of boyfriends, none of whom were exactly marriage material. With my childhood, I thought any guy who didn’t hit me was “a good catch,” and I tended to overlook things — things like huge age differences, boozing, drugs, chronic unemployment, severe mental illness. Then suddenly it dawned on me...
