Emmitt H. Thrower is an award winning disabled filmmaker, producer, director, writer and actor known for Disabled Artist Showcase: Creating Our Spaces (2022), New Borning: A Bronx Tale (2023), Where Is Hope: The Art of Murder (2015), Pigs in a Bowl: The Soup Opera (2017), Silent Sellers (2020), Disability and Cultural Activism (2020 and New Borning:The Creactivist (2020)). He is a member of Actor's Equity Association. Also known for his portrayals of historic charismatic leaders and legendary Black sports figures on the stage.
Grew up in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn New York.
Went to Brooklyn Technical High School to become an Electrical Engineer.
At age 16 was a Community Specialist in Brooklyn NY who trained individuals on how to pass civil service exams and taught them remedial courses to help them get their GED High School Diploma.
