Okaimono Panda (“Shopping Panda”), the official mascot character for the Rakuten e-commerce firm, is celebrating its 11th anniversary on May 07, 2024, and now a new TV anime adaptation entitled Okaimono Panda! has been announced for the character. The TV anime will broadcast in Japan in fall 2024. Astro Note , an upcoming original TV anime, has revealed a new cast member for the series with voice actor Kujira (Orochimaru in Naruto ) joining the cast as Oba-chan (“Auntie”), an older lady with a boisterous and gossipy personality who loves to chat with (and about) her neighbors. A new key visual was also released featuring the character. The official website for the upcoming original TV anime Astro Note released a new trailer featuring its theme song, "Hohoemi no Oto" ( The Sound of A Smile ), by voice actor/singer Ai Furihata. She is best known as Ruby Kurosawa in Love Live! Sunshine!! , and as well as her solo singer career beginning in September 2020. Sunrise and TV Tokyo‘s official websites for the Gintama television anime series confirmed on Sunday that Gintama will return every Thursday at 6:00 p.m., starting October 4th.
In addition to “Yorinuki Gintama-san” (a repeat of selected Gintama anime episodes), the broadcast will include new Gintama episodes. The main staff and cast will return for the new episodes.
Gintama is also getting a second film next year and a new game project from Namco Bandai Games. The Gintama television series first ran from April 2006 to March 2010, and then returned for an April 2011-March 2012 run.

When a movie opens with multiple self-referential gags up to and including the cast breaking the fourth wall to crack wise about the production company, it's clearly first and foremost courting an audience who don't care - who expect this, even. The first feature film for the long-running manga Gintama plays to the bleachers from the word go, and while it's genial enough about it - often genuinely funny, in a cheap and cheerful sort of way - the whole thing is created for the fans to the extent the uninitiated will frequently not have a clue what's going on.
