- Served as Florida's State Film Commissioner from 2005 to 2008, appointed by then-Governor Jeb Bush. He led the re-write of Florida's film incentive program, increasing its funding and attracting thousands of new jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in spending to Florida. He also created one of the industry's first 'green' production plans, and a 'hurricane preparation plan' that lowered a production's insurance costs in Florida after the state was devastated by 4 hurricanes in one year.
- Serves on the advisory boards at two universities: Valencia College's film program, and Full Sail University's film program. He previously served for 20 years on the Advisory Board of the University of Florida's College of Telecommunications. He also served as the interim Program Chair of the film program at Valencia College in 2015.
- Directors Guild of America member for over 40 years.
