MOSCOW -- A wave of resignations swept one of Russia's leading private television stations Monday in a growing row over "censorship." News and current affairs anchorwoman Olga Romanova -- who is taking Ren-TV to court over the Nov. 24 closure of her evening news show 24 -- show editor Olga Shorina, producer Tatiana Klokova and station information service editor-in-chief Elena Fedora, all submitted resignations Monday night alleging censorship and mismanagement. Claims that Ren-TV general director Alexander Ordzhonikidze has been suppressing politically sensitive reports at the station have refocused attention in Russian on censorship.
