Back in June 2023, Great American Media merged with Sony’s Pure Flix to stream original shows and movies. Having previously released two series, the latest news relates to the drama series Destination Heaven.
The drama miniseries Destination Heaven stars Harry Lennix as God. Meanwhile, the six-episode series, which premieres May 24, follows God as he encounters people in many circumstances who all believe they are doing the right thing.
However, they discover that their approach to being good is just going through the motions, rather than growing emotionally or intellectually from the circumstance.

Planet 9 Productions has hired Barkhad Abdi, Amy Smart, and Rory Cochrane to star in the family drama “Tyson’s Run,” Variety has learned.
“Tyson’s Run” started principal photography in Atlanta on July 9. Kim Bass is directing from his own script. The story centers on a 15-year-old boy, living with autism, who tries to heal the rift between his parents and the emotional distance from his father by pursuing an athletic dream.
Bass, a former staff writer on “In Living Color” and creator of primetime family series “Sister, Sister” and “Kenan & Kel,” is also producing with Deanna Shapiro, Eric Upshur, and Asante White. Planet 9 chief John Cappetta will serve as executive producer.
“We look forward to bringing this meaningful, heartfelt story to fruition,” Bass said. “I’m enthusiastic about the wonderful cast and crew we’ve assembled and eager to work with these phenomenal professionals.”

Major Dodson, who recurred on Season 6 of AMC’s The Walking Dead, has been tapped for the titular role in the indie film Tyson’s Run, from writer-director Kim Bass. Tyson, a boy living with autism, tries to connect with his unfulfilled father by training for a marathon with a disgraced former champion. Bass, who created primetime family series Sister, Sister and Keenan & Kel, is producing the pic with Deanna Shapiro. Filming is scheduled to being next month in Atlanta.
