- Aleksey Lvovich Rybnikov is Soviet and Russian composer. People's Artist of the Russian Federation (1999). Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation (2003) and the Prize of the President of the Russian Federation (2018). Chairman of the Council of the Union of Composers of Russia (2017).He began to try himself as a composer already in childhood: at the age of 8 he wrote several piano pieces, at 11 - the ballet. From 1956 to 1962, Rybnikov studied at the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory. In 1962 he entered the Moscow Conservatory, studied composition with Aram Khachaturyan. In 1967 he graduated with honors from the conservatory, and in 1969 - postgraduate school in the class of the same composer. From 1969 to 1975, Rybnikov taught at the Moscow Conservatory at the Department of Composition. Aleksey Rybnikov is the author of music for numerous films, musical performances, as well as the rock operas "Star and Death of Joaquin Muriet" and "Yunona and Avos" (based on the poem by Andrei Voznesensky). In 1979, Aleksey Rybnikov was recognized by the All-Union charts as the most popular composer of the year and was awarded the prize for the best film music at the Moscow International Film Festival. In 1989, the total circulation of discs sold with the music of A. Rybnikov exceeded 10 million copies. In 1988, Aleksey Rybnikov founded the Production and Creative Association "Modern Opera" under the Union of Composers of the USSR.
