Harry Relph(1867-1928)
Harry Relph born in Kent in 1867. He was better known as 'Little Tich'
a highly well-known comedian, dancer and singer, making his stage debut
in 1880, starred on the London Music Hall theatre's and Pantomime
theatre's from 1884. A wonderful chirpy Englishman who stood only 4
feet 6 inches tall, known as the big boot dancer, because of the length
of his very long shoes. Starred in a handful of early French silent
short comedy movies, making his film debut with 'Big Boot Dancer' in
1900 he was often working under the direction of the legendary
pioneering film-maker 'Georges Melies' from 1903 including 'Little Tich
and His Funny Feet' in 1903 and 'Le Raid Paris-Monte-Carlo en Deux
Heures' in 1905, his last film appearance in 'Little Tich, the Tec' for
the Gaumont Film Company in 1909.
