Exclusive: Big Wheel Film & TV, the producer behind controversial Sky History series The Chop, has been restructured after running out of funds due to Covid-related challenges and the withdrawal of investment.
The UK outfit, founded by former Sky commissioner James Quinn, entered administration following advice taken and has been sold to a separate production company run by Quinn under a so-called “pre-pack” deal, with all creditors paid in full bar one.
The arrangement allows for a quick sale of a troubled company’s business or assets, meaning Big Wheel was able to continue trading, according to a spokesman.
Big Wheel will sit as a label within Up & Away Film Entertainment, which has a development deal with BBC Studios. Up & Away described the move as a “restructure that has brought both companies under one roof.”

Nightmares Film Festival (Oct. 20 to 23) has revealed its complete 2022 program, and the seventh edition of the fest looks to be heaven for genre fans and creators.
The top-rated festival has once again scoured the globe to assemble the most surprising and beloved genre voices in a four-day lineup that truly lives up to Nff’s “better horror” credo. The film program combines new work from the most recognizable names in horror – from Mike Flanagan and Jamie Lee Curtis to Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson – with fresh, shocking stories by some of the planet’s best independent filmmakers and screenwriters.

Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver has admitted that she is terrified after deciding to return to the stage for the first time in 13 years. Cleaver, best known for her role as Eileen Grimshaw on the ITV1 show, is to appear in Marriages Made In Heaven at the Joshua Brooks pub in Princess Street, Manchester from tomorrow night. The 15-minute production will be performed for a short run alongside five other plays at the venue. Cleaver's ex-husband James Quinn, who appeared in the BBC sitcom Early Doors, will star opposite her. She told the Manchester Evening News: "I had a real hankering to go back to the theatre.
