- Giuseppe Piccillo was born on April 9, 1919 in Palermo, Sicily, Italy. He was a composer, known for Hercules Against the Barbarians (1964), Challenge of the Gladiator (1965) and I'll See You in Hell (1960). He died on January 22, 1998 in Rome, Lazio, Italy.
- After scoring a number of Italian epics in the 1960s, Giuseppe Piccillo moved on to become choral director of the Orchestra e Coro Sinfonica di Roma della RAI, sometimes conducted by film composer colleague Franco Mannino. In recent years Piccillo has lectured on choral music at the Conservatorio di S. Cecilia in Rome.
