The Wheel of Time‘s third season will primarily focus on the fourth book in the Robert Jordan series and feature the Sea Folk, as well as Tanchico and Rhuidean.
During a Sunday morning special screening of the season two finale and Q&a featuring showrunner Rafe Judkins at the Whitby Hotel in New York, Judkins revealed that audiences can expect that season three will focus more on Rand and Perrin.
“Every season, we sit down in the writers room and one of the things that we do at the very beginning is pick out a couple of the stories that we have to carve out a space to make a whole episode for,” he said. “We think it’s worth it because those stories will really stand out to an audience, especially that didn’t read the books. They’re given that time, and it’s carved out, so...

With the understanding that The Wheel of Time is based on a book series that spans a dozen thousand-page-tomes that will take time to cover, there are certain questions posed by the recent season 2 finale that will need to be answered sooner rather than later. After delivering several recognizable character moments from the Robert Jordan novels in a stellar season ender, the bar is now set very high for future touchstone story arcs, and any changes require immediate buy-in from a sometimes fickle fan audience.
In some cases, these unresolved issues involve expectations that readers may have that viewers do not, but the most pressing questions actually come from The Wheel of Time’s own take on character storylines that are either completely new and mysterious or unfinished in some way. Below are only a few of the most crucial details that...

The second season finale of The Wheel of Time achieved a lot with the plot, and it proved to be very exciting!
The Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 8 finally saw all of our main characters make it to Falme and also fight their way through the town.
Also, an unexpected ally launched a full-out assault on the Seanchan.
The White Cloaks have always been a strange, menacing force in the series since we first got introduced to them on The Wheel of Time Season 1 Episode 2.
We don't know much about them other than that they hate anyone who channels the One Power (part of the reason for their attack on the Seanchan).
Even though our heroes are not fans of the White Cloaks (and neither are we), their attack against the Seanchan managed to help in some cases.
Perrin found Loial and Ingtar, and because of the ensuing battles, they...

The Wheel of Time Season 2 has finally come to an end, and it is a much better finale than that of season 1. A fitting ending to the chaotic season where we finally get to see everyone come together. It was high time Rand faced Ishamael, and we saw the five come together. There are some tearjerkers and surprises in this episode that made the wait worth it. Some might even say the episode was too short. We did feel some things were a little bit rushed, but the payoff is decent, so we’re not going to complain. We would like to say that this all comes from the perspective of a non-reader, so take it with a grain of salt if you are a reader. Interestingly, we don’t get to see Siuan or any of the Aes Sedai except for Moiraine in this episode. At the end of...

This article contains spoilers for The Wheel of Time season 2 episode 8.
Even with the defeat of a Forsaken and the reunion of the Two Rivers exiles, it wasn’t exactly a fist-pumping victory for the forces of Light in The Wheel of Time season 2 finale. However, several characters reached major turning points in their story arcs providing plenty of satisfaction for viewers, especially for readers of the Robert Jordan novels who were expecting certain touchstone moments to occur. But for those with lingering questions, a closer analysis is warranted.
Ishamael and Lanfear at Odds
For example, what was the endgame for Ishamael and Lanfear? While the former seems determined to stop the wheel of time from repeating history and reincarnating heroes, the latter seems more interested in bringing back her former lover, Lews Therin, than in serving the Dark Lord’s interests. Ishamael seemed to be playing more of a long game,...

The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills and trust us, you will Not want to miss The Wheel of Time‘s second-season finale on October 6. Capping off a fast-paced and gorgeously rendered run, the Prime Video adaptation of Robert Jordan’s novels delivers one of its most exciting and pivotal hours so far. “What Was Meant to Be” drives all of the season’s plots into one massive, beautifully executed event, all centered on Rand (Josha Stradowski) taking a massive step toward fulfilling the prophecy that he’ll be revealed as the Dragon Reborn in the city of Falme. As that reaches a boil, Two Rivers wisdom Nynaeve (Zoë Robins) and Aes Sedai novice Elayne (Ceara Coveney) are racing to save his beloved Egwene (Madeleine Madden) from by her Seanchan enslaver Renna (Xelia Mendes-Jones), Perrin (Marcus Rutherford) is ready to unleash his animalistic abilities, and Mat (Dónal Finn) is, well,...

With the Seanchan backed by the Forsaken, who will be in Falme to champion the Light, and will they be ready for the inevitable confrontation? Readers of The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan may already know that the author was heavily influenced by the Dune books of Frank Herbert, but even for those who only know these sci-fi/fantasy classics from their screen adaptations, one parallel became very clear in the latest episode: the character of Aviendha played impressively by Ayoola Smart (Killing Eve). The Aiel prisoner immediately evoked all the desert warrior vibes of a Fremen, making her one of the most compelling new characters of the season.
The Aiel people hail from an arid land to the east of a barrier mountain range, separating them from the kingdoms of the west, just as an ocean separates the Seanchan from the known world of The Wheel of Time. The show has made clear that Aiel are mistrusted in this land because of a great...

The new season of The Wheel of Time happens to be much better than the first, especially for non-readers such as myself. I understand that, due to certain circumstances, season 1 had a lot of drawbacks that led to a really unworthy season finale. This season appears to be doing better in those aspects, but the biggest drawback is that because all the main characters are split up, there’s a lot of ground to cover in very little time. This leads to each episode missing one or more characters, meaning we lose track of who is where in the timeline. Episode 5 is missing all the fun characters like Alanna and Mat, who bring some humor to the show. Additionally, each part gets further divided through the episode, making you go from one thing to another continuously, leaving you in a bit of a daze. For someone like me who is...

Moiraine and Rand flee from Lanfear, a dangerous forsaken.
The Wheel of Time continuously hints at all of the characters coming together, and The Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 5 proved no different.
Now some of our heroes are still in (and headed to) Cairhien, while some are in (and headed to) Falme.
Moiraine and Rand thankfully led Lanfear in the wrong direction, but Moiraine revealed one of the powerful Forsaken's powers: Tel'aran'rhiod.
She can enter their dreams while they sleep, and do as much damage to them there as she could in the physical world.
Entering someone's dreams while they sleep, and potentially harming them sounds terrifying, and apparently, Lanfear is super powerful.
We got a hint of her power when she entered Ishamael's dream later on in the hour, and they discussed their plans and why Ishamael revived her.
Meanwhile, the novices are taken by Liandrin to some familiar...

The Wheel of Time season 2 continues with an additional lieutenant of the Dark One joining the fight despite Moiraine’s temporary victory. However, more of the main characters are beginning to discover the powers that lie within them to join the battle, though many of these new abilities come with consequences, not just for the protagonists but for those around them as well.
The next episode of The Wheel of Time is entitled “Damane,” which, for those who have read the books, indicates we’re about to learn more about the Seanchan, the invaders from the West. Non-readers will no doubt quickly learn what the title means as well. Here’s what everyone needs to know about episode 5 of season 2:

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie‘s legal battles continue.
In court documents filed on June 1 and obtained by Et, Pitt accuses Jolie of “secretly” selling her share of their Chateau Miraval Winery, which Pitt remains part owner of, in order “to seize profits she had not earned and returns on an investment she did not make.” Calling Jolie “vindictive,” Pitt’s legal team claims that she “also sought to inflict harm on Pitt.”
As Et previously reported, Jolie is accused of selling her share of the winery to Yuri Shefler, billionaire who owns the conglomerate Stoli Group, amid contentious divorce negotiations with Pitt. According to the newly-filed court docs, Shefler is designated as an “oligarch in the Russian Federation” by the U.S. Treasury Department.
“By 2019, Pitt and Jolie were finalizing their divorce, and Jolie wanted out of Miraval. In recognition of the contractual rights she and Nouvel owed Pitt and Mondo Bongo,...

The Wheel of Time adapts Robert Jordan’s fantasy book series of the same name, but the TV show might leave viewers unsure of the exact mechanics behind Aes Sedai and Warders that are explained in the books. While the early books focus on the characters of Rand, Mat, and Perrin, the Aes Sedai and Warders are always present to some degree. As the series continues the relationship between an Aes Sedai and one they have bonded as a Warder only becomes more important. While many fantasy stories feature the idea of a loyal bodyguard or trusted companion, The Wheel of...

William Sleator’s eerie dystopian 1974 YA sci-fi novel House of Stairs is getting an adaptation.
Before I Wake and Doctor Sleep actor Jacob Tremblay will star, Variety reports. Wi Ding Ho (Terrorizers) will direct.
Taking place in the near future, the dystopian genre film “follows five 16-year-old orphans who wake up to find themselves in a strange building with no walls, no ceiling, and no floor: nothing but endless flights of stairs leading in every direction, seemingly infinite. To find an exit, the five teenagers must learn to deal with the others’ disparate personalities, the lack of privacy and comfort, their clear helplessness, and a machine that only feeds them under increasingly ominous situations.”
While House of Stairs is described as an “elevated genre movie,” this setup sounds like an absolute nightmare.
Matthew McInerney-Lacombe pens the screenplay for this adaptation.
“William Sleator’s books have inspired generations of young readers.
