Guitarist, banjo player, bluegrass musician, and singer/songwriter Herbert Joseph Pedersen was born on April 27, 1944 in Berkeley, California. Pedersen began his musical career in the early 1960's in his native Berkeley playing 5-string banjo and acoustic guitar for such people as
