New Yorkers feeling the pinch might want to take some advice from party crasher extraordinaire Richard Osterweil.
An artist who never made much money painting, Osterweil is the subject of "Painting the Town: There Is an Art to Party Crashing," first released in 1992 but now out on DVD. The documentary chronicles Osterweil's often extravagant attempts to scam his way into many of Manhattan's most high-profile events over the past two decades using nothing more than a clip-on bow tie and a $6-a-day food budget.
"Like most New Yorkers, I've always been obsessed with celebrities," Osterweil tells Page Six.
