- Stepmother of actors Guy Stockwell and Dean Stockwell.
- Singer and dancer who, as a young girl, trained in dance and was initially a part of her ballerina mother's dance troupe. A leg injury put an end to Nina's dreams of becoming a ballet dancer and instead turned to vaudeville where she became known as a "dancing comedienne." Born Hildegarde Lachmann, she received her first professional break at age 12 as part of a "sister act" called "The Lachmann Sisters" with Violet Carlson.
- On Broadway, Nina appeared in comic roles in saucy musicals such as "Captain Jinks" (1925) and "Hold Everything" (1928) , the latter clowning opposite Bert Lahr. Her comedy routines were often take offs on current dances such as the Black Bottom or Charleston performing in a funny, muscle-relaxing style. Her last stage appearance was in a revival of "The Matchmaker" at New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse in 1958. In later years, Nina took a major interest in designing women's fashion accessories (handbags, scarves, and stoles) and became a favorite designer for stage and TV stars. The last years of her life were spent as a manufacturer's rep in whole sale gift ware.
- Father: Edgar Spencer Lachmann; Mother: Kazia Lachmann, both vaudeville players.

- Nina Olivette was married later in life in 1963 to actor/singer Harry Stockwell, a Broadway musical performer best known for providing the baritone voice of the Prince in Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). She died of a heart attack eight years later.
