Pakistan has been a huge market for Indian films. Films featuring big Bollywood stars have been raking in big moolah in Pakistan market. But now, the Pakistan Film Producers Association has asked their Government to make a 90 per cent cut in the screening of Indian movies in Pakistan to give a boost to their own domestic film industry. The Association's Chairman, actor and producer Syed Noor, has apparently warned the Pakistani Government of consequences claiming that if their demands are not met they will rally and organize hunger strike camps.

Islamabad, Aug 20: With no new Urdu or Punjabi films releasing on Eid in Pakistan, movie buffs in the port city of Karachi are flocking to theatres showing action movies "The Dark Knight Rises" and "The Expendables 2".
Moviegoers were excited with reports that said at least a couple of Urdu films and a few Punjabi movies were to see the light of day on Eid.
The only new Urdu film is Syed Noor's.

A group of writers, actors and directors from the Pakistani film industry have decided to take legal action to ban Indian movies across Pakistan, according to a report on Smashits.
The artists include Pakistani actors Moamar Rana, Shaan, Meera, Sangeeta, Syed Noor and Shahid, directors Aslam Dar, Altaf Hussain, Masood Butt and Pervaiz Rana, along with producers Jani Malik and Chaudhry Kamran.
The report says that they pledged to stop the screening of Indian films in Pakistan. It adds that they are upset with Indian movies pulling more audiences compared to Pakistani movies. The artistes feel that if Indian films were not screened, Pakistani movies released on Eid-ul-Fitr would have fared much better.
