- Leila Negra was born on March 20, 1930 in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. She is an actress, known for Der schweigende Engel (1954), Tanzende Sterne (1952) and Toxi (1952).
- On screen in German films from 1943, often typecast in 'native' roles. She later became better known as a singer and adopted her stage name Leila Negra.
- Reinvented herself as a nurse in 1957 and has worked in that profession since.
- First recording contract at age 20. Had several hits in the 50s, including the title song from the 1952 film Toxi.
