- Movie double for John Gilbert
- Stage credits include Vaudeville song and dance man as part of the Debonaires, well as appearing on Broadway in musicals by Irving Berlin, Moss Hart, and Jerome Kern.
- Appeared on Broadway in the 1938 Cole Porter flop 'You Never Know' as a member of the Debonaires (Edwin Gale, Buddy Hertelle, Paul Pierce, Harold and Jack Voeth, and Mr. Murray). Show starred Clifton Webb, [error], Libby Holman, June Preisser and Toby Wing (her only Broadway appearance; she retired immediately afterward). The Debonaires danced and performed vocal back ups for Toby Wing and June Preisser. Despite the stellar talent involved, this production was plagued with problems between cast members (Holman and Velez hated each other), scenes were cut, additional non-Cole Porter songs were added by play doctor George Abbott and the reviews were mediocre. It was during the run of this production that Cole Porter broke his leg in a horseback accident that would ultimately result in an amputation after dozens of surgeries. The show closed after 79 performances.
