Monica Murphy is from Reisterstown, Maryland. She is the youngest of
seven daughters. Her late father, Daniel, was a civil servant/Catholic
deacon. Her mother, Barbara, is a homemaker. Monica started acting when
she was 13 after she was inspired by the movie "Beetlejuice". She
graduated magna cum laude from Towson University with a degree in
Theatre Arts. Monica is a character actor with a penchant for playing
off-beat, quirky characters. She made the move to Los Angeles after
deciding that she was done with East Coast winters, at least for a
little while. Her favorite musician is Bjork, and her favorite writer
is Joseph Campbell. Her passions are acting, film, women's rights, and
fashion. Her sister, Athena, a musician, is also a Los Angeles
resident.
