The much-awaited return of the ghost detectives on the silver screen is finally available on Netflix, and the fans seem to love it. Based on the DC Comics characters of the same name by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner, the Netflix series is created by Steve Yockey and it follows the story of two ghost detectives who decide not to ascent to their afterlives to stay on Earth and investigate the crimes involving the supernatural. Dead Boy Detectives exists in the same universe as Netflix’s hit DC fantasy drama series The Sandman, and while it is different from The Sandman in its story and visuals, the Dead Boy Detectives seem to be connecting with the fans. So, if you loved the charm and supernatural shenanigans in Dead Boy Detectives here are some similar shows you should check out next.

The live-action adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho is off to a strong start on Netflix. With only five episodes under its belt, there’s still more source material for the series to adapt. Netflix has yet to renew the series for a second season, but early signs suggest a renewal could soon be coming.
Yu Yu Hakusho is a Japanese Netflix Original supernatural action-adventure series and the live-action adaptation of Yoshihiro Togashi’s manga series of the same name. Tatsuro Mishima (Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead) adapted the story for television.
The series was led by Alice in Borderland producer Kazutaka Sakamoto. Akira Morii (Assassination Classroom) served as producer on the project, and Ryo Sakaguchi (Game of Thrones) is SFX’s supervisor. Netflix’s internal studio, Scanline VFX, worked on the visual effects. Yutaka Yamada (Vinland Saga) composed the series.

Netflix is to release its Japanese live action film “Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead,” on Aug. 3.
The horror comedy film is based on the hit manga (comic book series) by Aso Haro and Takata Kotaro that debuted in the Shogakukan magazine Monthly Sunday Gene-x in October 2018. It has also spawned an animated series that plays on Hulu in North American and other territories.
The underlying comic is a wackily original melding of the salaryman gag manga – a popular genre in Japan seldom exported abroad – with the sort of zombie holocaust story that has become a Hollywood staple.
The story follows overworked office worker Akira (portrayed by Akaso Eiji) who, in the wake of a zombie apocalypse, is more excited at not having to go to work than worried about fending off the undead. He comes up with 100 things to do before turning into a zombie himself and embarks...

In a boost to its Japanese content ambitions, Netflix has signed a five-year strategic partnership with The Seven, a production company subsidiary of Tokyo Broadcasting System Holdings (TBS Holdings). Under the agreement, The Seven’s creative team “will produce multiple original live-action titles that will be exclusively available to Netflix,” the two partners said Tuesday. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The new agreement builds on prior work Netflix has done both with TBS and The Seven’s key creative team. Akira Morii, who leads development and production at The Seven, recently collaborated closely with the streamer as the driving producer behind its breakout Japanese original Alice in Borderland, which is set to return for a second season next month. Netflix has also picked up several TBS shows for its service, including Japan Sinks: People of Hope, The Future Diary, and Let’s Get Divorced.
