Robert Mitchell was born on October 12, 1912 in Los Angeles, California, USA as Robert Bostwick Mitchell. He was an actor, known for Everybody Sing (1938), Loaded Pistols (1948) and College Swing (1938). He died on July 4, 2009 in Los Angeles.

In the mid 1930s, organized the Robert Mitchell Boy Choir.
His father was mayor of Sierra Madre, CA from 1918-1924.
Played organ for films five times a week at the Strand Theater (Pasadena, CA) from ages 12-16.
When the Dodgers baseball club moved to Los Angeles, Mitchell was their first stadium organist in Chavez Ravine.
He attended the New York College of Music, but returned to Los Angeles in 1934 because his father was ill. Eventually, he graduated from what is now Cal State L.A., and Trinity College London.
Plays for weekly Wednesday night meditation services at Founder's Church Center for Positive Spirituality in Los Angeles. [December 2008]
Played regularly at Vitello's Restaurant in San Fernando valley, California [June 2006]
Believed to be the only surviving accompanist from the silent-film era, he still occasionally performs at silent films - at age 89 - in the Los Angeles area, often at the well-known Silent Movie Theater. [2002]
