It's one of the great unfulfilled love stories in comic book stories, the what could have been between Peter Parker and his first love, Gwen Stacy. While Spider-Man's alter ego eventually falls for and marries fiery redhead, Mary Jane Watson, the blond Stacy offered another avenue for fifty years of adventure.
In Marc Webb's upcoming film reboot, "The Amazing Spider-Man," that early love story is explored in more depth than ever before on screen, with Emma Stone taking on the role of the Upper East Side science loving cutie. A lot of 'The Amazing Spider-Man' is being kept under wraps, but not to the extent of some other comic book inspired films. Actress, Emma Stone, who plays Gwen Stacy in the film was interviewed by Comic Book Resources at this past San Diego Comic-Con. She didn't tread into spoiler territory with what she said, but she did have a lot of interesting things to say. Assuring that her Gwen Stacy is not widely different from the one of the comics, she said: "She's the daughter of the police chief, she grew up on the Upper East Side, she is valedictorian, she's very serious about science, she wants to go to school, she's very responsible, she's the oldest in her family and she really just has this attraction and this slight chemistry when we first meet her with Peter." Tests performed on former Vice President Dick Cheney reportedly revealed evidence that he suffered a mild heart attack. The Associated Press reports that Peter Long, an aide to Cheney, says the 69-year-old had a stress test and underwent a heart procedure. Cheney was admitted to a Washington hospital Monday due to chest pains. Long also tells the AP that George Washington University performed tests and found "evidence of a mild heart attack," adding that Cheney is expected to be released from the hospital by the end of the week.
