- Worked as Ringo Starr's chauffeur.
- Hired by the Beatles as an office boy at Apple Records in the late 1960s.
- Substituted for the departing bassist Jeff Simmons in the group "Mothers of Invention" on the album and film 200 Motels (1971). Supposedly Frank Zappa hired Lickert by happenstance when, in desperation, he said he would give the part to the next person who walked into the room. Lickert turned down an offer to tour with the group.
