- Has won two Tony Awards as Best Choreographer: in 1962 for "No Strings," in a tie with 'Agnes De Mille' for "Kwamina;" and 1969 for "George M!" He also received four other Tony nominations: as Best Choreographer, in 1960 for "Greenwillow;" as Best Director (Musical), in 1961 for "No Strings;" and as Best Director (Musical) and Best Choreographer, in 1980 for "Barnum."
