- Geoffrey Gibbs was born on November 25, 1940. He was an actor, known for Zombie Brigade (1989), The Shark Net (2003) and Love in Limbo (1993). He died on August 17, 2006 in Perth, Western Australia, Australia.
- As a teacher at, and later the Dean of, the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Geoff was instrumental in training Hugh Jackman, Frances O'Connor, Dominic Purcell, Lisa McCune, Marcus Graham, and William McInnes, among many, many others.
- He was awarded the A.M. (Member of the Order of Australia) in the 2002 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to the performing arts through the establishment, development and promotion of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, and through professional associations.
