As to his mysterious disappearance, according to author
Jeffrey Meyers, who wrote "Errol and Sean Flynn in Hollywood and
Vietnam," the hippie-looking Sean had returned to Vietnam in March of
1970 to freelance for Time magazine and teamed up with photographer
Dana Stone. On April 6, 1970, against the advice of others also in the
area, Sean and Dana headed by motorcycle towards a supposedly abandoned
roadblock on the Cambodian border to snap pictures...and disappeared.
The two men were never heard from again despite the efforts of many,
including Sean's mother
Lili Damita.
